Team Placement & Grading

Parents Role in Grading

Please remember that the purpose of the grading is not to get your child as high a grade as possible but to have them graded into a level of competition that best suits their ability.  This will enable your child to have a chance in contributing to the team, achieve some soccer skills development and receive enjoyment from participation.  Please ensure you have your child at grading at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

Prior to the season starting, your assistance will be required to carry out various tasks to ensure the season runs smoothly.  Please assist by helping out when and wherever possible.

Senior teams may be contacted by last season’s coach or manager, however, players are encouraged to register on one of the scheduled registration days as hard ID cards are to be produced and therefore a digital photo needs to be taken.

Team Placement & Grading

For the Grading & Team Placement dates please go to the events calendar.

Grading of players for our teams and placement of players in the SSF (Small Sided Football) teams (Under 6 – 11) plus selection of Coaches and Managers takes place over the two weeks following the last registration day.  It is Club Policy that all players attend grading and be financial.  If you have not heard from a Coach, Manager or Committee member regarding team placement by late February, please contact the club registrar or by using the general enquiry form.

  • Parents of children registering in the SSF (Small Sided Football) will be contacted regarding season commencement.

Please note:

  • Players must attend both nights unless excused by Club Committee.
  • If unable to attend the grading night(s), please advise the club registrar as soon as possible so that your inability to attend the right grading night may be noted.
  • No player will be graded unless they are wearing appropriate footwear and compulsory shin pads
  • Age groups where two nights are indicated may be reduced to one night if approved by Club Committee
  • To avoid misunderstanding, we can only assume that if a player does not attend a grading night, he/she has decided not to play in the current season and their name will be removed from team lists.
